GAY ATTIRE FOR MEN.
MOVEMENT IN LONDON. London, Dec. 17. The fashion artist, Henry Parkes, is appealing for 15,000 young men as the pioneers of the reformed dress movement to brighten masculine drabness in modern life. He has designed exhibits of brocaded evening dress with ruffles, buckles, and cravat, and colored business suits. The Daily Mail is sympathetic, but does not expect success for the movement, as too much moTal courage is required. The pioneers of the revival of picturesque clothes claim that many army and navy men and sportsmen are supporting the movementMr. Parkes estimates that the revival will be permanent when s<K>o pioneers are enrolled in London and 10,000 in the country. Three of the leading Weßt End tailors are turning out the gayest adaptations of old fashions, including gold-braided waistcoats and coats. The most favored colors are royal blue and purple.
