A RE-UNION. As many relatives were visiting New Plymouth * during the Christmas holidays, to celebrate this event, Mrs. R. J. Matthews gave a most delightful afternoon tea. There were about 50 guests present, coming from all parts of the Dominion, and their ages ranged from 83 to H years. During the afternoon races and croquet, were indulged in, and musical items were given by Mrs. Give Matthews and Miss Horner, Amongst those present were: —Mr. and Mrs. Churchward (Blenheim), Mrs. and Miss Horner (Patea), Mr. and Mrs. C. DANCE. Mrs. Walter Bayly gave a very jolly little dance at the Kawaroa Park Bungalow last Wednesday evening to usher the Old Year out, and welcome the New Year in. The music was supplied by Miss Rita Sole. The hostess was ably assisted "by Mrs. H. Stoeker, and there were about 75 young people present. TENNIS PARTIES. Mrs. H. Greig was hostess to two tennis parties this week, one being held on Wednesday afternoon, and the other yesterday. WEDDING. A quiet wedding was solemnised by the Rev. Father Soulas at Normanby on December 18th, when Miss Nora Ruakere, of Puniho, was united in matrimony to Mr Bert. Mathieson, of New Plymouth. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr. W. Hillman, was attired in white crepe de chine, and wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms. She was attended by two bridesmaids, Misses Walsh and Dunn, who wore cream costumes, and carried bouquets of sweet peas; and Margaret Biscoe and Huie Hepburn were flower girls. Later in the day the young couple left for Wanganui, the bride's travelling dress being a navy costume with black hat.
