DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIPS. NO TARANAKI SUCCESSES. (Special to Daily News.) Wellington, Last Night. The championship* opened yesterday. A southerly gale blowing made tonnis almost impossible. Dickie scratched to I'. Wilding owing to ill-health, but he lyil! play in the doubles. Robson (Auckland) defeated Wallace in three straight sets. He is at the top of iiis form. Allison and Gray (Otugo) defeated Nicholson and Webster in three straight sets. The local men failed to strike form.
