MANY LIGHTERS WRECKED. FREIGHTER LOST WITH ALL HANDS. By TeleßMßh. —Press Assn.—Copyrlfht. Received Dec. 28, .I.ii p.m. London, Dec. 24. Gales are raging in the Channel and in the Atlantic. Casualties have been reported, principally among lighters, a dozen of which were wrecked on the Belgian coasts and several crews were lost. An unknown freighter foundered with all hands.—Aus.-N.JS. Cable Assn. Received Dee. 2S, 11.45 pm. London, Dec. 20. The Deal lifeboat responded to distress signals last evening and searched throughout the night during a gale. The crew of the lifeboat found a large quantity of wreckage, suggesting tliat a ship had foundered after collision, or broke up on the Goodwins. There was no trace of the ship's erew.—Aus.-N.Z.
