INTERNED ALIENS.
PROTEST AGAINST THEIR FREEDOM. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. A meeting of residents was held in the hall at Silverdale to protest against a recently interned person being allowed to take his residence again at Silverdale. It was resolved that a public protest, be forwarded to the Prime Minister objecting to internees being permitted to further enjoy the privileges of British citizenship. A committee was appointed to wait upon the man in question and inform him that it was considered dwaivable for him to remove his presence from the district. Strong exception was taken to the action of the Government in setting free a number of interned persons. It was considered that they should be deported to their native country.
