RECIPROCAL GIFTS.
CANADIAN WOOD FOR PREMIER'S ROOM. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Mr. Massey has received a letter from Sir George Foster, Acting-Prime Minister of Canada, acknowledging the gift of kauri timber wherewith to decorate the room of the Prime Minister in the new Canadian Parliament building. Mr. Foster added that Sir Robert Borden had asked that arrangements be made to forward soma representative Canadian woods for incorporation in New new Parliament buildings. Mr. Massey also received a letter from Mr. Beddoe, Canadian Trade Commissioner in New Zealand, asking for particulars of the finishing planned in the Prime Minister's rooms at Parliament Buildings, and stating that the proposal of the Canadian Government was that Mr. Massey's new room should be finished in bird's-eye | maple for panelling, and walnut for framing.
