AN ERRONEOUS DECLARATION. By Telegraph.—Press Association Dunedin, Last Night. A case in which a young woman cmployed by Messrs. Waters, Ritchie and Co. was charged with making an erroneous declaration to the Customs Department, came before Mr. J. R, Bartholomew, S.M., in the City Police Court today, when Flora Mac Donald was charged that she did unlawfully make a certain declaration under the Customs Act, if)l3, which was erroneous within the meaning of section 211 of this Act, and contrary to the form of the Statute. The firm of Messrs. Water, Ritchie and' Co was similarly charged. The girl Mac Donald who was authorised by the firm to pass Customs entries on behalf of the firm, was fined £25, and the firm was mulcted in a similar amount.
