The Daily News to-day circumstantially predicts an election in February, and says that the abandonment of the Coal «nd Anti-Dumping Bills are part of the election plans, because they would produce divisions in the Coalition if pro(eeded with. Also, if Labor persists in the promised campaign for the nationalisation of mines in February and the threatened renewal of industrial strife oceurs, the Government will go to the country on an anti-Labor policy. The Daily News adds that the Government's decision to prorogue before | Christmas, instead of adjourning, is due to the possibility of an election.—Aus.H.Z. Cable Assn.
