EVIDENCE AT INQUIRY. A MINING LEASE DEAL. By Telegraph.—Prua Amu,—Copyright. Received Dec. 19, 7.35 pan. „ Darwin, Dec.l*,. At the Commission, Judge Bev&fl, in his further evidence, stated that the key of the private telegraphic code in use was a combination of Dr. Gilruth's, Mrs Gilruth's and Carey's initials. He supposed that the Gilruths prepared the key for replying to questions regarding monetary and other relations between himself and Gilruth. He said they were interested with a man named Hope in an Arrino mining lease. They got Hope to fake it up. Each of threq bad an equal share in the property. Asked if Hope was the owner M far as the public was concerned, witness replied: "I think so."
Asked if there were any other things in which Gilruth and himself wen in' terested under someone else's hum. Judge Bevan replied in the negative. Ha did not think it strange that the Administrator should advance money to bin* self under someone else's name. Be claimed they were acting perfectly straightforwardly.—Aug. and HfX frMq Assn.
