FITZROY METHODISTS.
CHRISTMAS FETE. A very prettily dressed Christmas fete was held in the Fitzroy Hall yesterday afternoon by the Fitzroy Methodist Church, for the purpose of augmenting their trust funds. The stalls were tastefully arranged and artistically decorated, and were all heavily laden with a well assorted collection of saleable goods which found ready buyers. The central decoration was a gaily dfesse<l Christinas tree, which attracted the children, as did also the bran tub arid the ice cream stall. The Ladies' Guild stall of plain and fancy work was very heavily ..toclced with a splendid collection of useful articles, consisting principally of clothing. The' fete was opened by the Sev. J. Napier Milne, superintendent of .the circuity who, in an appropriate speech, complimented the church on. the splendid effort made, and expressed hope that it would meet with deserved . success. There were many visitors during both afternoon and evening, and the stalls were well patronised. Following were the stall-holders:— Ladies' Guild Mesdames Andrews, Rundle and Coutts. Cookery Stall Mesdames Cooper, Richards, and Prestney. Produce Stall—Mesdames H. Hall and Kibby. . Flower Stall—Mrs Wright, Misses Petch and Coombes. Bran Tub—Misses Kerr, Holden and Nitz. Ice Cream—Misses Pepperell and Fenwick, Messrs Holden and Hunt. Sweets—Misses Andrews and Bray. Afternoon Tea—Mosdamea, Pepperell, Fenwick, Carriek, Book, Symons. Christmas Tree--young People's Club.
