SCHOOL BREAKING UP.
A BRIGHT ENTERTAINMENT. The pupils of Miss Menzies' private school in New "Plymouth held their breaking up ceremony in St. Andrew's Hall yesterday afternoon. There was a large attendance of parents, and during the afternoon the children gave a splendid programme of musical items. Each child received a prize, and the little folk paid a tribute to .their teacher by presenting Miss Menzies .with. a. email gift Afternoon tea was .provided, and altogether a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon was spent
The items given by the children combined to provide a; very- entertaining programme, and -the- ■ excellence of the siLcring reflected credit on their teacher. The programme was as-follows:—Piano-forte solo, Eleanor-Gray; recitation, Jean Smith; song, Mary Thomson; dialogue, Eleanor Gray, Marjorie Large and Jean Large; duet, Elsie Cruitkshank and Betty List; recitation. Doi'dthy Waters; song, Susie Lawrence';' recitation, Marjorie and Jean Large; duetj Elsie Cruickshank and Mary Thomson; dialogue, Eleanor Gray and.Susie Lawrence; song, Barbara Blackley; recitation, Mary Thomson; recitation, Mary Thomson and Elsie Cruickshank; tableau and song, Miss Leech and four girls; and songs and recitations by the scholars.
