EVERYBODY'S. LAST NIGHT OF "LIFE'S GREATEST PROBLEM." A special production by Stuart Blackton is a theatrical event, as will bo realised by those wh<Msee "Life's Greatest Problem," screening for the last time 10-night at Everybody's. The stars are remarkable-'-Mitcheil Lewis and Ruby de Remer. The latter will be remembered as the famous stage beauty who, as the real and original Gibson Girl, was the feminine lead in "The Auction Block." Mitchell Lewis was, of course, "Poleon Dare" in "The Barrier." The story deals with the problem of modern times where a tramp and an idle rich young man both in fact lead about the same lives. They are both rudely awakened to the reality of things by the "Work or Fight" order of the U.S.A. Government, and the ending is worked out with humor and artistry. The play is crammed with big scenes, some of them outvieing the great spectacles of former plays Blackton has made famous. In the supporting cast, must be mentioned Gus. Alexander, who appears as the big tramp's pal "Little Lefty." The eighth episode of "Wolves of Kultur" is also showing. THE PEOPLE'S. • a bis Western story.
"Pay Me," the star item on to-night's ■new bill at the People's, presents the charming and beautiful Dorothy Phillips, and is a pulsating, red-blooded tale of the west with its lumber camps and shack towns. "Pay Me" is a strong melo-drama of the timber camps of the West, full of action and force—it is what might well be termed "a good redblooded" story of men and women who mainly live outside the law. But in spite of its strength and theme there is nothing offensive throughout; the story is well handled, and the plot cleverly developed, and every artist is particularly well chosen, the acting being of a remarkably high standard, with Dorothy ! Phillips in the lead. The bill includes I gazette, comedy and interest films, and the free photo to-night is that of. Billie Burke.
