A man wag sentenced to death at Chester in Oetobbr for murdering a 13-year-old girl under revolting circumstances while" dfttnk. He appealed to the Criminal Court, which reduced the charge to manslaughter, and sentenced accused to twenty years' servitnde, on the ground of' misdirection regarding the «ffect of drunkennUßs on his mental condition. • The Crown has now appealed to the House of lards, and the AttorneyGeneral argues for restoring the death sentence.
