The flames had obtained a good hold before they were discovered, but the brigade made a good save, the fire being under control in 15 minutes. Four cars in for repairs (two insured) were practically ruined. The bulk of Neilsen's stock was saved. The insurances were: Building £350 in the Royal office, stock £750 in the Alliance. There is much sympathy for Neilsen, who took part in the Zeebrugge raid and had just re-established himself in business.
