j , £5250 FOR A COW. Record prices were realised in London recently at a sale of Friesian cattle. *orty-seven cattle brought £25.000, an average of over £540 each. An imported cow was bought for 5000 guineas. Another cow with a two months' calf was sold for 3000 and 1600 guineas respectively. An imported bull sold for 1500 guineas. The top price for English-bred heifers were 1650 and 1200 guineas.
