JURYMAN BECOMES INSANE. London, Nov. 20. Walter Payne, charged with the murder of his wife, was convicted at the Old Bailey. He stated that his mind had been affected through sitting as a juryman in a recent murder case. He was ordered to be detained as insane Mr. Justice Rowlatt confirming a specialist s view of the trying effect of such trials. Ho said it was one of the reasons why women were not permitted to sit on juries.
