EARTHQUAKE PREDICTED FOR TQ* ' MORROW. ' • By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellirgton, Last Night.

The following cablegram,' dated 13th December, lias been received by the Government Astronomer from the DirectorGeneral of Agriculture, Suva: —"A letter .published in the local press from Mr. dement Wragge, predicting violent seisJnic disturbances, commencing about December 17th, has caused considerable flom. This Government would appreciate any information you could supply by cable «a the matter." ifr. George Hogben, Government Seismologist, having been asked for his Views on the matter, has submitted the following report to the Government:—lt hu been proved again and again that SUB spots and other astronomical phenomena do sot cause earthquakes.
