TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB. The committee of the Taranaki Jockey Club met last night. Present: Messrs. L. A. Nolan (chairman), W. C. Weston, Q. Fraser, A. Alexander, "W. T. Hookham, B. H- Chaney, E. F. Blundell, L. B. Webster, Newton King, and J. McLeod. Two certificates of fitness and character were granted. It was decided to again issue complimentary tickets to • returned soldiers, and conditions were drawn up fixing the area in which complimentary tickets would not be given. It was decided to make a charge of two shillings at the outside gates on all soldiers' and other complimentary tickets. It was decided to vote £5 5s to the New Plymouth Astronomical Society. ' Mr. Whittle was granted the catering at the publican's booth at the Christmas meeting.
