A Belgian hunter, Mr. Qapelle, who has returned from the interior of the Congo, states that he followed strange spoor: twelve miles and he sighted a beast certainly of the rhinoceros order. It had large scales reaching far down a Tery thick kangaroo-like tail, a horned mont* and a hump back. He fired shots at the monster, which threw up its head and disappeared into a swamp.—Am.. N.Z.
