PUBLIC NOTICES. TO MEMBERS OF NEW ZEALAND EXPEDITIONARY FORCES. Notice re General Election and Licensing Poll. 1. Every pewon (not being a military defaulter or disqualified rfrom voting by section 38 of the Legislature Act, 1908) who has served beyond the seas as a member of an Expeditionary Force is entitled to vote at the General Election and the Licensing Poll, whether he is registered as an elector or not. Maori members of an Expeditionary Force are entitled to vote at the General Election for the election of Maori members only, but are entitled to vote at the Licensing Poll. 2. Members who are enrolled as electors are subject in all respects to the proVisions applicable to ordinary electors, except that they may vote beyond the boundaries of the district for which they are registered without being required to produce an absent voter's permit on production of the documentary evidence referred to in the paragraph following. 3. Members who arc not enrolled as electors, or who, being so enrolled, desire to vote outside, their districts without an absent voter's''permit, must produce a* the polling-place documentary evidence that they have served beyond the seas as members of an Expeditionary Force. Any of the following classes of documents will be accepted as sufficient: — (a.) A certificate of discharge from the Expeditionary Force after service beyond the seas; or (b.) A leave certificate, hospital certificate, or other status certificate issued by a competent military authority. 4. Any member who is not enrolled as an elector may vote as an elector of—(a.) The electoral district (as existing at the date of the election) within which he was resident at the date of his first becoming a member of an Expeditionary Force; or (b.). Any electoral district within which he has resided for not less than one month since his last return to New Zealand from service beyond the Dated at Wellington this 29th day of November, 1919. J.
