TRIBUTE TO AUSTRALIANS | London, oNv. 12. j General Sir William Birdwood has pubI lished an Australian Imperial Force order | containing the farewell letter from the Bishop of Amiens to the Australians. The letter runs: "PicaTdy will cherish very. She will remember the blood of the the remembrance of the Australians' brajvery. She will remember the blood of jthe dead which ran upon her soil, and that she holds their bodies." The bishop says the horrors of war brought out in the Australian character the noblest virtues of man—valour, the spirit of sacrifice, tenacity of purpose, endurance in difficulties, honor, brotherhoodof arms, inflexible discipline, and respect for order and the rights of others.
