INGLEWOOD.

SOLDIERS' RE-UNION. (From Our Own Correspondent.) .The annual re-union of the Inglewood branch of the Returned Soldiers' Association took place at the Town Hall on Thursday evening, when over SO members sat down to dinner. The catering arrangements were in the hands of Mr. Geo. Young who put on a spread that never has been excelled in IngleAvood. The tables were tastefully decorated, seasonable flowers being freely displayed. The guests were served by a band" of ladies, who freely offered their services, and acquitted themselves most fittingly. The whole proceedings were a great j success, reflecting much credit on the gentlemen at the head of affairs. Lieut. Ayling presided, Dr. McCallum assisting as vice-president. The Mayor and members of the borough council were present as guests. Major Hine arrived late in the evening. The following toasts were honored:— "The King," proposed by Lieut. Ayling; "The R.5.A.," proposed by the Mayor and responded to by Mr. * Carmine; "The Ladies," Mr. Errington—Mr. P. Chapman; "Absent Comrades," Rev. Bensley, honored in silence; "The Division," Mr. F. Spurdle, responded to by Mr. Albert Raynor; "Army Nurses," Dr. McAllum, responded to by Mr. Higgs; "Lady attendants and caterers," Mr. Carmine. The speeches were interspersed with songs, etc., the Following gentlemen contributing: Messrs R. Geddes, A. Ravnor, Cobbe, W. Earp, Lieut. Avling, "Rev. Bensley, and Mr. Roberts. The'Mavor presided at the piano. During the evening, Mr. Carmine stated that about £4OO was required to extinguish the debt on the new clubrooms, and trusted that adequate support would be forthcoming, and so enable the title deeds to be in t-heiv hands soon, Thanks to the splendid effort of the Ladies' Patriotic Committee the sum of £l3O had been raised, and thev all warmly appreciated their work.
