SWIMMING CENTRE.
FORMED IN NEW PLYMOUTH. A meeting of those interested,in the formation of a local centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association in New Plymouth, was held in the Soldiers' Club last night. Tiie Mavor (Mr." Jas Clarke) presided and there were present: Messrs R. Day, W. C. Weston. C. Brown, Dr. Wade, P Flanagan. N. Winter, N. A. ChristianBen. B. Mlrinper. Eeglcton, A. Baker, M Winter. A. R. Standish. R. L. Mcllrov. G. Pugh, Crump, 0. McHnrdv, W. Hardgrave. Mr. W. J. Davis was appointed secretary pro tem. After some discussion it was decided to form o. head centre of the N.Z.A.S.A., and that two representatives from the Roval Life-Saving Society and East End Swimminc Club, and of those present, form themselves into a sub-committee to further the object and gather information to be submitted to a future meeting.
The sub-committee was elected as fallows: Messrs R. L. Mollroy, N. A. Christiansen, A. R. Standish, G. Pugh, W. J. Davis a ,i,i w. Hard nave. Dno notice of the meeting will be given when the necessary information lias been ascertained.
