TRUTHS ABOUT LABOR. Mr. C. E. Statham, Reform member for Dunedin Central, told his hearers a few evenings ago some home truths about Labor. He said that certain Extremists had abrogated to themselves the sole right to speak for Labor. At recent by-eiections, he said, three leading spirits of this eutremo party had succeeded in finding their way into the House of Representatives—Messrs. Holland, Semple, and Eraser—all of whom had been in gaol for sedition, and Mr. Holland had been chosen as Leader of the party. He (Mr. Statham) believed that the victory at the polls of these three men had done more to set back the cause of true Labor in New Zealand than anything else that had happened in its history. The l.oyal and patriotic workers of New Zealand had come to realise what was happening, namely, that the Labor organisation was being captured by the Revolutionary Party for its own ends. Were they going to tolerate this? He was sure they were | not.
