The Australians, In their firsf Innings, made 456 (Collins 67, Trcnnery 31, Pellew 45, Lampsrd 73, Gregory 69, Willis, not out, 71). South Africa, In their second innings, had lost one wicket for twelve runs, when stumps were drawn. MATCH IN AUSTRALIA. Received Dec. 2, 10.5 p.m. Brisbane, Doc. 2. New South Wales scored 328 for the loss of seven wickots in their second I'lninps, and declared the innings closed (To?.er io:> Ratcliffo 107). Queensland, in their second innings, had lost one wicket for 48 runs, when rain caused an adjournment. TO-MORROW'S FIXTURES. The fixtures for to-morrow's cricket matches are as follow: New Plymouth v. Inglewood, at Inglewood; Walrcka v, Albion, at Tukapa. It has been decided not to continue* the Saturday senior competition at present. On Saturday next the two unfinished matches will be completed, and after that teams nil! he selected and trial matches played wlh a vi<2\7 to selecting a North Tarannki representative team. It is hoped to get a match in. New Plymouth a gains'. South Taranaki, and to play a return match at Hawcra The match against the Ncmads takes place at the end of the month, and an endeavour is to be made to get <i Wanganul team to como to New Plymouth.
URENUI v. TIKORANGI JUNIORS. (From Our Urenul Correspondent, On Thursday last the Urenul Cricket Club had ft visit from tho Tikorangl juniors, and a most enjoyable game was played on the fleerention Ground. Considering it was the first match of the season the home team showed some very good form, and, no douM, before tho season closes they will give somo of the senior clubs a good game. The scores were Urenul 7G and 77, Tikorangl ni'ondfi7. For the winners Fap, O'Neill, L. Managh, W. Faller. C. Wilson, and N. Street batted well, and C. Foreman for the visitors showed good form. Urenul bowling honors were shared by T. O'Noil], F Mariagh, Street and DesForges, whilst C. and J. Foreman and Purdle trundled well for the losers. It is probable a return match will be played at Tikorangl shortly. A match, which created considerable Merest amongst supporters of tho game, was decided at the Kecreution Grounds, Inglewood, nti Monday afternoon, when a team of old sports, wife styled themselves "The World," tried conclusions with-the local eleven, the game resulting In a win for tho latter by 147 runs to f«3. In the evening, the teams with their supporters, dined together at the Inglewood Hotel, where Mr. Harold Thomson presided over an enthusiastic gathering. The chairman during the evening intimated that the match had been arranged by tho Old Snor's fr> give the Inglewood team a game wevious to their match in New Plymouth on Thursday, and to stimulate interest in the good old game. Mr. Darlow, in the toast of "The World," complimented the challengers ou their effor's, and thanked the team for tho practice match. Mr Geo. Gudgeon, In Teply, gfm> some good words of advice and hoped to raise the standard of cricket in Inglewood. Mr. Dave Wilson introduced the question of the state of tho mat-tin? on the pilch. The matter was enthusiastically taken up, and, with Mr Cutfleld in charge of tho plate, the sum of £l3 10s was soon forthcoming. The meeting broke up at 8 pm.
