DROUGHT IN AUSTRALIA.
.SHEEP BROUGHT TO THE CITY. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Dec. 2, 7.23 p.m. Sydney, Dec. 2. A movement is afoot to bring stock from the drought stricken areas to depasture on vacant lands in the suburbs. Centennial Park will be utilised by the Government, for five hundred stud sheep from the Ncyngan experimental farm. The sheep are now starving.~Aiis.-N.fi. Cable Assn. Received Dec. 2, 10.5 p.m. Sydney, Dec. 2. The Minister of Lands, in moving the second reading of the Farmers' Drought Relief Bill, providing for an advance of £1,000,000 and a moratorium, said that the drought was affecting seven-eighths of the State, and was more serious than the Government had ever had to deal with.
