THE BUTCHERS' STRIKE.
THE AUCKLAND DEADLOCK. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The position regarding the butchers' strike remains unaltered. The conciliation Commissioner is still active in his efforts to bring about a settlement and a slight improvement is reported in the prospects of eventually achieving a compromise. The moat recent development is a proposal by the Butchers' Union to open a retail shop in the city manned by its members and directed as to business arrangements by its executive. ' The Westfield stock sales are suspended pending a settlement of the dispute.
