TARANAKI SEAT. MR. BUCKERIDQE'S CAMPAIGN. There were over eighty electors at llf.' Buckeridge's meeting at Okato on Satarday evening. Mr. W. J. Grey presided. The meeting followed the speaker With ■ interest, and at the. conclusion ft few questions were asked and satisfactorily!' answered, a vote of thanks being accorded the candidate. Later a strong committee was set up to promote Mr. £uckaridge's candidature. THE STRATFORD SEAT. HON. J. B. HINE AT WHAREHUIA. Major Hine had a splendid meeting at Wharehuia on Friday evening, when' about 70 electors of the district met him in the school. Mr. Geo. Gangster presided. The speaker's address was listened to attentively. At the conclusion, Mr. Hoskins moved, and Mr. Barleyman seconded, a hearty vote of thanks to the speaker, and a motion of confidence in him as the representative of the district in Parliament, both motions being carried with acclamation. MR. MASTERS AT NGAERE. The accommodation at the Ngaew Town Hall was fully taVcd to hold the enthusiastic audience which gathered to I near Mr. Masters' address. In reply to an interjection by Mr. John Thomas, J Air. Masters pointed out that the Argentine was receiving 170s per cwt for its butter while New Zealand received 1575. Canada was securing a greater price than New Zealand for her cheese. This was caused by the freight from New Zealand being greater. He advocated an | open market, so that the farmer might receive the full value of his labors. At the conclusion of the address, Mr, Pattinson moved, and Mr. Mason seconded, a vote of thanks to the speaker, expressing confidence in him as the representative of the electorate in Parliament This was carried. EGMONT SEAT. MR. POWDRELL'S MEETINGS. Mr. W. D. Powdrell addressed about 50 electors at Rapanui on Wednesday, Mr. D. Ross in the chair. The speaker had a most attentive hearing, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. On Thursday Mr. PowdreU addressed at Mosstown one of the largest political meetings ever held theve, many persons . standing. _ He was given a very attentive hearing, and after answering many questions was accorded the usual vote of thanks. THE GISBORNE SEAT. By Telegraph,—Press Association. ~ Wairo.;, Last Night. Mr. Lysnar opened his campaign at " airoa. There was a large and representative audience, and he received a * good hearing. He dealt with politics generally on similar lines to his Gis. borne address. Mr. Lysnar stated that he supported the urgent prosecution of the East Coast railway, and the Waikaremoana hydroelectricity scheme. He stated the commS system was the storage batterv, which was successfully used in America anrt Kngland, and which proved highly satisfactory in Gisborne. A vote of thanks was carried with loud applause.,
