ANZAC GRAVES.
epilogue or 1915 tragedy. SILENT WOODEN" MONUMENTS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Nov. 25. The War Graves Commission staff is installed at Kilid Balir, 10 to 15 miles from Anzac and Helles. Colonel Hughes recently visited Constantinople and completed arrangements with the Turkish authorities to facilitate the operations. Anzac will be the first spot treated. There are already between 40 and 50 burial spots and also burial grounds at Helles, including all those in which Australians are buried. It will be five months before the roads are fit for motor traffic. _ The whole scene is again one of active Australian operations, an epilogue of the tragedy of 1915 with the scene swept clear of all that was hideous. Only the silent wooden monuments remain; the trenches aTc overgrown with shrubs and flowers. It is hoped that next spring everything will be in readiness for those who are able to secure transport facilities to make the pilgrimage to Gallipoli.
