HIS TRIAL IN LONDON. jRATIFICATION OP PEACE FIRST. By Telegraph.—Press Asm.—Copyright, Beceived Nov. 29, 1.25 a.m. London, Nov. 25. The Daily Mail, in stating that the Government expects the trial of the exEater to begin in London in the New Year, says that, in completing the necessary arrangements, it has been necessary to wait for the formal ratification of the Peace Treaty before requesting the Dutch Government to surrender him. Ratification is confidently expected Within a few weeks, when a united request for the ex-Kaiser's surrender will be presented to the Dutch Government, which will be complied with. The trial will then take place. No limit ia prescribed for the severity of the penalty if the Kaiser is found guilty. No arrangements hate been made to •tcludethe death penalty. Private advices from Berlin state that a commission there found largely against the ex-Kaiser. The report will be made public at the end of the week.—United Service. EVIDENCE FOR HIS TRIAL. London, Nov. 24. The Allies have collected valutol* evidence of a far-reaching character to support the indictment and trial of the exKaiser.—Reuter. [A few days ago the Daily Mail stated that the ex-Kaiser would be tried in London in the New Year. Article 227 of the Peace Treaty sets out that the Allied and Associated Powers publicly arraign William 11., of Hohenzollern, formerly German Emperor, ior a supreme offence against international morality and the sanctity of treaties. It provides for the constitution of a special tribunal to try the accused, thereby assuring him the guarantees essential to the right of defence. The tribunal was to be composed of five jftdges—one each from the United States) Great Britain, France, Italy and Japan- So that the former Emperor might be placed on trial, it was provided that the Allied and Associated Powers would address a request to the Government of the Netherlands for his surrender. It has also been announced that the formal ratification of the Peace is awiited before steps are taken to demand the former Kaiser's surrender by Holland, in which country he is now living.]
