MUNICIPAL ELECTION. BOROUGH BY-ELECTION. JK response to the wishes of different sections of burgesses, I offer my services in connection with the election to fill the vacancy on the Borough Council. I need hardly remind burgesses of my previous experience on the Council, as well as on the Hospital Board, nor to say that if they do me the honor of electing me, that I will again give of my best on behalf of the town. My interests are wrapped up with those of New Plymouth, which I believe to be on the eve of great developments, and to be well worthy of all the help and guidance that can be given it. I am of opinion that, in municipal, as in business affairs, we cannot afford to stand still. Particularly is that so of New Plymouth, with its great hydroelectric and other resources. We must pursue a policy of progress and enterprise, consistent always, however, with soundness, and so hasten the time when the town will lake the place it is destined some day to become of being the fifth city in New Zealand. That, ladies and gentlemen, is what I will work and aim for i( you honor me with your support. Yours Faithfully, A. E. SVKES. MOTUEOA LODGE U.A.O.D.
