GIRLS' HIGH SCHOOL.

PRESENTATION FROM OLD GIRLS.

■Six pictures -will be presented to the Girls' High School by the Old Girls' Association to-morrow afternoon, when all old girls, whether members of the Association or not, are invited to be present at the garden party which the present girls are giving to the old girls. These pictures will be hung in the different classrooms, and it is hoped that they will he but the forerunners of jnanv more, both from the same source and from- other sources. Two of the pictures nre very lino photogravures of "The Formu, Rome" and "The Banrello, Florence," with its cloister-like pillars! Another is an artist's sketch of Westminster Abbey. The picture of Ophelia offering her rue to the King and Queen, and Leighton's "The Return of Persephone," are both well known. The sixth picture is a colored print of one of the most interesting scenes in history—old Galiles summoned before th» Inquisition and forced to abjure the Copernicau theory of the solar system and the motion of the earth. The title of JL his P ictl,re is "And. yet it Moves." The Old Girls' Association also intends presenting portraits of Mr E P Pridham M.A., the first principal of the High School, and also of Miss Ramsav first lady principal, and her successors!
