WEST END GALA DAY.
A meeting of the West End School Committee and members of the Kawarua Park was held in the Gymnasium Hall last evening. Mr. Thomsen, chairman of the School Committee, presided. It was decided to purchase three sacks of cccoanuts, and a good supply of dolls for the dressing competition were ordered. It was decided to have soft drink, jumble, lollie, flower and produce stalls. The afternoon tea arrangements were well managed by the Kawavoa Park Committee. Mr. J. Hoskin kindly offered to give a spectacular display of fancy dancing by his pupils. The school children will give special displays of fancy marching and Swedish drills. It was decided to have a doll guessing competition and other items of interest. A dance will be held in the pavilion in the evening.. It was decided to start races for the children from 11 a.m., with prizes for all winners. The programme of spectacular events will commence at 2 p.m. Sideshows will be in full swing all day long.
