Cable Assn. Of 518 members elected to the new Chamber 327 are new men. This is an outstanding feature of the elections, for it signifies not merely the transfer of seats from the Republican parties to the right, but a movement towards the right inside the Republican parties themselves. In the elections up to the present the Socialists have gained 23 seats, In from the Catholics and 8 from the Liberals; but the Catholics retain their majority in Parliament.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. The elections passed in almost uncanny calm. The Caiholic majority is disappearing. The Socialists have gained enormoußty at the expense of the Catholics and' Liberals, and it is forecasted that the new Chamber will consist of 70 Catholics, 3S Liberals, anil Go Socialists. The remaining four scats will be divided between the Front Party and the Combatant Party. ITALIAN ELECTIONS. MINISTERIAL VICTORY. Rome, Nov. 17. The election returns indicate a victory for Signor Nitti, the present Premier.
