THE MEAT TRADE.

THE QUESTION OF CONTROL. ■ By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Nov. 21, 7.40 p.m. London, Nov. 18. A general meeting of the Incorporated Society of Meat Importers resolved that the time has arrived for the removal of the control of the imported meat trade. The first steps towards decontrol should be a return to the system of selling freely through agents, the withdrawal of compulsory registration of customers, and the removal .of restrictions regarding quantities purchased. In forwarding a resolution to the Food Controller the Society points out that supplies are not plentiful, but those foreshadowed are fully adequate to meet all future requirenents.—Aus.-N.Z.
