Poulet's departure has been postponed until the 18th inst., owing to the nonarrival of certain maps and the fact that Benoist (his mechanic) has not fully recovered. —Reuter Service. ! _________ THE ALLIANCE DISASTER. | A SCENE AT THE INQUEST. Received Nov. 18, 9.25 p.m. London, Nov. IT. The Coroner returned a verdict of accidental death at the inquest held into the circumstances of the death of the airmen, Ca'ptain Douglas and Lieut. Ross, who were killed when starting on a flight to Australia in an Alliance machine. A scene was created by Captain Douglas' fiance, who, in an outburst, asserted that Captain Douglas informed her that the machine had not been adequately tested. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. October 20th, left Naples; landed at Brindisi, owing to torrential rains. October 22nd, left Brindisi; landed at Valona; further delayed by rain. October 30th. arrived at Constantinople, after a terrible journey. November 4th, arrived, at Aleppo, via Konia and Adana. November sth, left Aleppo; reached Bagdad in the evening. November 6th, left Bagdad, arrived at Bushire. Date uncertain, arrived Bandar Abbas. November 10th, left Bandar Abbas for Karachi. November 11th, arrived Karachi. 3 a.m. Captain Matthews: Left London October 21st, 11.45 a.m.; landed at Marquise, hear Boulogne, owing to fog. October 22nd, arrived at Cologne; delayed by breakdown of machine and bad weather. November 2nd, left Cologne, arrived Mayenze (Mainz). Captain Ross-Smith: Left London November 12, 9.15 a.m. November 13th, arrived Lyons. November 14th, arrived at Pisa, in Italy. Colonel Douglas: Started from Snrbiton November 13th; machine crashed, and he and Lieutenant Ross were killed.
