WAITARA.
(From Our Own Correspondent) Nov. 15, A very successful sale of work was held in St. John's Hall on, Thursday afternoon. It was promoted by the Lades' Guild of Knox Presbyterian Church, who, by their industry, and with the aid of friends, secured a fine lot of articles for sale. The stalls were nicely arranged, and did good business all day. The following were the stall-holders:—Plain work, Mesdames Hingley, Muschamp .ind Parry; novelties, Mesdames Perkins ;.n.l Weir; produce, Mesdames Blanchard and Guinea, with Miss P. Rowe and Mr. J. Blanchard; flowers, Mrs. A. M. Purdie and Miss B. Smith; sweets, Mrs. Bird, Misses Barley man, King and Bird; ice cream, Misses D. Hingley and N. Barleyman; luncheon and afternoon tea, Mrs. H. MeKenzie, with Misses E. Sutherland, 0. Memman, S. Bullot and A. Fulton. The total takings were £7B, which shows that they had a very successful afternoon, and must be very gratifying to all concerned. Miss Parkes, who has been a mo3t energetic worker for the Anglican' Church, is leaving Waitara for the King Country. She is being entertained tonight at the Vicarage by the choir of St. John's Church and Sunday School teachers.
