Mr. Bernard Shaw 0 states he will not accept the Australian Socialist Party's invitation to lecture in Australia on his own terms. REMOVING RESTRICTIONS ON CAPITAL. Loudon, Nov. 12. Tho Board of Trade has granted a general license under the Defence of the Realm Act, permitting issues of capital. PURCHASE OF A PORTRAIT. London, Nov. 15. The trustees of the Felton bequest have purchased for the National Gallery of Victoria a portrait of the Countess of C'avan, painted in 1751 by Allan Hamsay.
