Afghan irregulars arc still in Wana, but the commander, Shah Saula, is reported to have left. The terms rejected by the Mahsuds included a claim that the Government of India should make roads and station troops in any part of the protected area. The Mahsuds were to restore all rifles and bomb 3 taken, not to interfere with the movements of troops, pay a fine of 10,000 rupees, and deposit 200 rifles as a guarantee of good faith.—Aus.-N.Z.
