She may be expected to arrive here about Wednesday. THE KAIAPOI. Tlis Kalapoi arrived at eight o'clock last night from Wellington with 800 tons of general cargo. THE ALEXANDER. Tho Alexander left Westport at midnight on Saturday for New Plymouth, and i 3 due here this morning. BEACONS AT NEW PLYMOUTH. The New Plymouth Harbor Board has notified tho Marine Department that two tri-angular-shacpd beacons, painted whlto, with a vertical black stripe through the centre, have been erected on tho foreshore on the south Side of tho New Plymouth harbor, bearing 197deg. (SI dog. W. magnetic). These beacons in line lead 900 ft north-east of the breakwater end. Stone is now being rapidly deposited for a distance of 800 ft in line of breakwater, for the foundation of the proposed breakwater extension. Tho beacons are 180 ft apart, the front lower on being 50ft from highwater mart. „ STEAMERS FROM OVERSEAS. ARAWA, left London Oct. 5 for Auckland. Due Nov. 14.
