A MEMORIAL AT ROTORUA. A large number were, present at King , George Hospital at Rotorua at the dn- ■ veiling of the memorial tablet to the lato I Col. Stewart Kewall in the refectory by ('apt, G. Mair. Col. Bernau and officers, j also Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Newall and | Miss Roberts, near relatives, attended, j The tablet stated that it was erected by the otHcers and staff of the hospital in 1 grateful remembrance, and bore the following inscription:— A great example stands to show How strangely high endeavours mar be blest, When piety and valour jointly go.— (Dryden). Captain Q. Mair paid a touching and glowing tribute to the deceased soldier, whom he had known for 5" years.
