OPENING OP IXGLEWOOD GfIEK.W O.lorious weather favored the opening of the bowling season this afternoon, The green was In excellent condition and fine play wns witnessed. Mr, F. Spurdle, president, opened the proceedings by extending a hearty welcome to the visitors, tho following bowlers reciprocating the greeting: Messrs. -T. D. Sole (West End), S. Smith (Fitzrov), A K. Smart (New Plymouth), and J. \Y. McMillan (Stratford). Mrs. p. Spurdle threw the Jack into position, and from thereon bowlers settled down to play tho customary match, some exciting finishes beih<r witnessed. During *the afternoon, an energetic ladies' committee upheld the Hub's reputation fnr profuse hospitality.
