Mr. Oswald Hawken addressed a wellattended meeting of electors at the Opunake Town Hall on Tuesday. Mr. C. A. Trotter occupied the chair. Mr Hawken spoke for 1J hours on the lines of hia previous speeches. When dealing witu matters of local interest he fully explained that the Reform Government had introduced the measure by which tenants under the West Coast Settlements Reserves Act could secure the freehold ,of their holdings. Also that the samo Government had commenced the construction of the Opunake-Te Ttoli railway, which had been promised the district for over 40 years. Opuimke had to thank the Reform Government for securing a harbor district to this port and for numerous reserves which had been vested in the Opunake harbor. A number of questions were anked and answered. On the motion of Mr. Looney, the candidate was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his address. After the close of the above meeting a strong committee was formed to assist the Reform candidate. Mr. G. W. Rogers was appointed chairman, and Mr. E° J.
