PURCHASE OF A LINER.

POVERTY BAY ENTERPRISE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, Last Night. It is disclosed that the vessel purchased by the Poverty Bay Farmers' Meat Company, Ltd., is the Admiral t odrmgton, of 10,000 tons. Mr. W. D. Lysnar, chairman of the company, states his company paid cash for the boat through the assistance of shareholders and the resources of the comthat possession was taken at Port oaid on the 7th inst. with its full crew and iu running order. The boat Is being sent to Colombo to pick up a cargo for Australia, whither she proceeds to carry out her engagement, which was made prior to her purchase, to lift a full cargo of Imperial produce from Australia to England. His company will, however, from now on derive the benefit of the full earnings of the boat, and they have now absolute control of her. When loaded the boat will draw 28 feet 4 inches.
