Frontier reports to hand indicate that there will be little or no opposition to the advance of our forces through the Touehi Valley to Datta Khel. The Mahsuds are not so ready to come to an understanding as the Waziris. Important sections are still hostile. Shah Daulat, the Afghan commander is getting nervous, and sent word to Khost that he will not remain in command of the Afghan garrison at Wana unless reinforcements are sent to aid him.
