THE NGAERE GARDENS.
ADDITIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS,
The fame of the Ngaere Gardens as a pleasure resort has now etpread throughout the length and breadth of Taranaki and beyond, and is a distinct compliment to the enterprise of Messrs Lester Bros., whose experience as caterers and entertainers serve them in good stead and make them ideal directors of this charming resort. So popular has Ngaere with its numerous attractions become that Messrs Lester Bros., who had in view a/comprehensive scheme of improvements when they took the gardens over, find thav it is necessary to at once carry some of them out in order to adequately cater for the comfort and enjoyment of their patrons. The tea rooms are to bo at onse considerably enlarged, additions are to be made to the soft drinks stall, and a hot water service is to be installed, all of which will be in readiness for the Christmas holidays. As the result of their representations they have been successful in having the claims of Ngaere as a holiday resort recognised by the Railway Department, and on special holidays special trains will be run. Lester Bros are ever on the alert for new attractions, and are arranging for toboggans, among others, and also an aviary. Furnished tents for private parties am also to be provided. The grounds are at present looking well, and at present 12,000 annuals are being planted, so'that •they should shortly be a blazo of color. Anions other attractions the proprietors have in view is, a visit from the New Plymouth band.
