ADDIXGION MARKETS. CUrlstcliurch, Nov. 5 There was a double market at Addington to-day, as no sale will bo held during carnival wed;. The yarding or all classes or stock was a good deal above the average. In spite of tills tho demand was very keen in all fat stock sections, and high prices reigned supreme as usual. There wa,s an Improvement In tho size of the store sheep yarding hut the quality was inferior to that at the' previous week's sale, and llio demand was fairly brisk, late rates being fully maintained- Twotooth ewes and iambs (all counted) 21s 4d to 225, a.m. ewes and lambs (all counted) 18s to •Ms.Dd, 4 .and (i-tooth wethers 33s to 44s 9d 6 and 8-tooth wethers 3Gs (id to 39s Cd ewe hoggets 25s Gd to 40s, shorn 21s 9d, m 3 hoggets 27s Cd, wether hoggets 22s (id, 33s 4d bix hundred and threo fat lambs were penned The quality was fair, and values went to 39s for best lambs. There were twelve races of fat sheep, tho biggest yarding for a' long tlmo Prices were firm all through for good stock' Extra prime wethers to 87s Od, prime 60s to <os, medium 4Ss to 50s, lighter 30s to 45s 3d extra prime ewes 70s Cd, prime 52s to Cls' medium 42s to 50s, lighter 30s 3d to 40s' prime hoggets 90s, lighter ,33s lOd. There was a yarding of 358 head of fat cattle This was not nearly enough for tho requirements of a whole fortnight, and in consequence the demand was very keen, and bidding brisk for all reasonably good stock. In the dairy pons cattle were numerous, but the quality throughout was not of a very high standard Enquiry also was a shade easier. Tozer, and a very satisfactory sale of everything was made. Cows (mostly calved) sold from £lO 10s to £23, heifers £9 to £lB farm horses £lO to £2O 10s.

FREISIAN CATTLE SALE. Dalgety and Co. Ltd.. Palmerston North in conjunction with the NZ. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd.. report having held a dispersal sale of pedigree Friesian cuttle on account of Mr W. Remnant, on Tuesday, the 4th. inst. Owing to extremely rough weather, there was not a very large attendance, and a number of cattlo failed to chance hands at auction, hut eventually the whole catalogue was cleared with the exception of a few calves. Quotations : Pedigree cows: Ono at llidens, Rloomfield Farm, Trenlhara: one at, mens. Mr H R Creon, Kairanga; one at lOOgns, Bloomfleld Farm Co ; one at 78gns., P. Nesbitt, Rataono at Signs. Mr O. Low, Cheltenham; pedigree cows from Mens to 49gns; pedigree heifers, 21) to flOgns: pedlgreo bulls, 25 to lOgns; grade heifers, 10 to logns; dairy cows and heifers £ls to £2l 10s. WOOL SALES. The Department of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce lias received the- following cablegram, dated October 29, from the' nigh Commissioner for Now Zealand, London:—"Wool snips: Seventh series Government auctions commenced on October 27; large attendance Keen competition from Homo and Continental buyers. Merinos selling at prices fully equal to closing rates of last sales, Crosshreds realising f) per cent, advance Total offering will be 1.'f1.000 bales shown wools, and 61,000 to bo sold on desifrlption: 30.000 bales' of the former and 9000 of the latter are New Zealand."
