GALLIPOLI LATER. By Telejrapli.—Press Assn.—Copyrie'it. 1 Received Nov. 0, 0.30 p.m. Loudon, Nov. 4. It was announced in the House of Commons that the Battle Exploits Memorial Committee has received 117 claims to erect memorials by individual units.
AH the Australian and New Zealand claims to date has been approved. Belgium lias agreed to reserve sites including Passchendaele, St. Julien, Gravenatafel, Zonncbeke, Hooge, Polygon Wood, Sanctuary Wood, Hill U3, Neuve Eglise, Ypres, Messines, Zillebeke, Wytchaete, St. Eloi, Hill 00, and Ivemmcl. The committee states that negotiations are proceeding for French sites, including Pozieres, Vimy, Monchy, Le Preux, Bourlon Wood, and Villers Bretonneux. Arrangements for Gallipoli and Palestine are under discussion. Where sites are not given the committee undertakes to acquire land if the units bear the cost of purchase. The question of the upkeep of the memorials lias not yet been decided.*—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
