The Emir Feisul (son of the King of Hedjaz), in an interview, declared it was impossible for the Arabs to consent to the dismemberment of Syria Be asked M. Clemenceau not to divide the country, but has not received a ply[The Emir Feisul has gone to Paris at M. Clemenceau's invitation to discuss the Syrian question. The AngloFrench agreement provided that the British shall withdraw from the Arab zone of Syria by November 1, when the country will be handed over to the Emir, but the French garrisons will remain in Beyrout and Lebanon littoral. The Emir fears that the alterations in the status quo inaugurated by Lord Allenby will result in trouble and protests against, the evacuation of the British, who are regarded as friends o! Islam. He urged that the question of evacuation be submitted to the Allied Military Commission.]
