ATTEMPT TO CLEAR THEMSELVES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Appeals against the inclusion of their names in the military defaulters list were made at the Magistrate's Court by Glen Pollock, who claimed to be a religious objector; William Hughes, who admitted having deserted from camp, but claimed he had been wrongly classified; Alexander Fraser, who protested against further punishment; William Heaney, who stated he had broken down with lumbago while 011 leave and later was afraid to report at camp; and Robert Gould, who claimed he had been wrongfully imprisoned. All the appeals Wfltfe dismissed.
